So I'll be building a new ryzen 7 rig this winter and wondered how they calculate power consumption for video cards now.

A long time ago I remember some 2x 8pin cards could use up to 450watts.

I'm seeing the card I picked out only consumes 250watts. 8pin + 6pin.

The pin count doesn't directly corrolate to wattage consumption.
Just google ur card and wattage consumption then look at chart for load.

At the bottom of the charts for single card or for comparisons... it lists the idle and load power consumption for vid cards.

no im just on datura smoking invisible smokes

and when a rx 480 is lower psu consumption than a r9 270x then idk maybe its improved

So i'll probably just be looking at sticking with the 750w psu I picked out so theres room to upgrade.

But between all the mid level graphics cards im kind of torn.
I can spend a little less and get a capable RX590

I can spend a little more and get a 1660-Ti or Vega 56.
Should I just wait and see what deals they have come end November ?
