Is it just me or is the rookie talent this season insane?

Yordan Alvarez and Aristides Aquino both had 3 HR games yesterday and Pete Alonso is already sitting at 38HR on the season.

Can we take a moment and appreciate this rookie on the Padres though? Machado signed a $300M contract with the Padres and he's getting outperformed by this 20 year old rookie.


Manny Machado in 438 AB:
26 HRs
70 RBIs
.267 AVG
.822 OPS

Fernando Tatis Jr. in 321 AB:
22 HRs
53 RBIs
.324 AVG
.994 OPS

This kid is clutch too, with a .355 AVG and 1.088 OPS with runners in scoring position. Oh, and did I mention he's gotten a hit in 20 of his last 21 games including an active 14 game hitting streak? Man deserves his own thread.

I remember when his dad, Fernando Tatis, hit two grand slams in one inning. Kid has it in his blood.

Yeah no matter how good Tatis Jr. becomes, his dad will always have that over him. " Yeah son, you've won multiple MVPs and that's great.. But did you even hit two grand slams in the same inning ? "

And yeah the young players have been insane. It even goes back to last year with Acuna & Soto.
