I don't get why the Stranger Things thread got 50 posts after S3 dropped while in this Mindunter thread, 5 of the 20 posts are from me.

I feel like Mindhunter is good enough to be wildly popular. Does it have a limited demographic that I don't understand?

Mind hunters is great, but it’s a slow paced crime show versus a sci-fi show about other dimensions & monsters

This man.

I think you understand the limited demographic just fine though. One show is for teens/adults and the other is strictly for adults. It's the same reason a Avengers End Game made 5x more than the VASTLY superior Logan, that's just how shit works. There are tens of thousands of examples of this, but I tried to use two superhero movies with almost identical ratings (even though that's a complete joke) to showcase this.

Hmm, good point about the youth demographic. Now that you mention it, I realize that you have a point.

Despite the fact that the ime period of the shows are very similar (late 70's, early 80's), Stranger Things definitely appeals to kids who are too young to remember the time. Thanks for the good insight.

The show is not underrated. It's Holt McCallany the dude who plays Bill Tench who's underrated.

This. It's a massively popular show.

First episode was tough to get through tbh, but after that, it was a well above average show. I'm hoping the second season is just as good, if not better.

Literally every person I talk TV with irl, which is a good amount of people, found this show on their own because of buzz from other people they knew. It's a popular show man.

Guess it just depends on the area and they type of people we interact with. I got turned onto it by a friend who watches everything on Netflix and then I tried recommending it to like 10 different people over the next few weeks, but all of them had already binged it.

First episode was terrible. Stopped half way and rewatched it 2 months later. Glad I did. From the moment Bill Tench showed up I was hooked. Don't know why they added that chick who plays Holden's gf. Very annoying and didn't add much to the story.

How can you even fall in love with a girl like that?

That guy's fucking amazing. I also loved him in the Losers, even though he only had a small part.

I agree on the first episode. I might have never gotten past it had it not been for a super strong recommendation from a friend, so I said fuck it and stuck with it. Obviously happy I did, the show is too damn good.

Great show. Ending of Season 2 was pretty bad though.

Bill's wife gave me Skylar vibes (Breaking Bad). Useless and unappreciative. Bill Tench is a hardworking man and obv cares about his family. Brings home the money (dude works for the FBI) and the b*tch moves out.

it was definitely a highlight of the season. The Manson actor was brilliant. The whole scene really jumped off the screen.
