So yah i finally cleaned my graphics card after 8-9 years of strait use.

got all that dust out and applied new thermal paste.

problem is the idle heat is 38-40c which is about the same before i cleaned it and the gaming test or stress test heat is about 78-82c

the stress heat is better than befor when i was hitting 90+c in gaming etc

so did i add to little thermal paste? or was my thermal paste to old perhaps?

this is the thermal paste from 8-9 years ago when i first built the pc i made sure to get the crud out first befor applying it

i added about a pea size to the middle maybe for a gpu it needs more? or maybe the temps will get better after a day or two as the paste has time to heat and spread?

p.s. maybe there are thermal pads i need to change?

depends on paste and its cure time.
you could of fucked it up.
in any event temps are fine.
