If you keep a separate 1.13 version purely for offline play, it works. But yeah, not with 1.14.

but plugy makes game easier

i unistalled plugy cause ot fucked up both eu nl, eu ladder and asgard for me. so now i only play plugy when offshore at work xD

i had second folder, i always copy d2.
then i made patch 1.12 on one of them
Then i installed plugy.

point is that it fucked up my register key somehow. so i guess u can manually make that register key back to normal. so you need to add yhe correct at to location at least there, i did not know that then.
