the "games don't use many cores" meme is hilarious

Maybe 15-20 frames better.
and thats like a 3900x vs a 4790k.
now compare prices and tell me its worrth it...
I'm sticking with my 3770k atm cause I can't justify dropping like 800$ for 20% gains. (over my oc'd cpu)
3900x has same single core performance as any other ryzen2 chip at the same clock.
the only difference in performance would be... if the program or game used more cores.. which is the case with pretty much everything now.
so the 3700x makes much more sense than the 3900x, especially if you're wanting more than 4 cores but not as many as 12. 8/16 is the new standard and the 3700x is the new 4790k as far as i'm concerned
i was much happier with my amd setup when i had one (8320) vs my 4790k when it came to general performance, lately this intel rig has been a headache and unusually sluggish.
i'm just looking for better multicore performance, especially while streaming, encoding, or just using a ton of programs at once, while also improving upon the god awful microstutter i have on this chip
it's been 5 years, i think a 700$ upgrade isn't bad, especially since i can recoup costs by selling the cpu/mobo/ram combination.

I mean I'd bet money that it's a better gaming experience than a 5 Gen old 4 Core
I'm sure you can squeeze more FPS out of the 9900K for sure.
yeah, the 3700x will perform better than the 4790k, especially since mine is stock since it wasn't handling its overclock w/ undervolt properly anymore.
9900k made no sense to me as i already am done with intel, and now that amd is competitive i might as well swap back to team red for the time being.

giggled when I saw "upgraded" and "To AMD" in the same sentence.
3700x is literally better than the 4790k in every way/shape/form aside from maximum clockspeed. this is including power draw, and heat output, on top of not being a dead as fuck platform
i'm sure you were just being funny because it's odd hearing "upgrade from intel to amd", but the time has come.
