I need to find the maximum area I can enclose with a certain amount of fencing.
I have two distinct areas, but they differ slightly in size.
I am having some issues coming up with the right equation :/
Looking for someone knowledgable with this

2L + 2W = T where T is the total length of fence you have, L and W are length and width respectively of the enclosure.
A = L x W
If you graph A as a function of L or W (whichever you feel like solving for), you can find the peak of the graph. The y coordinate there should be your area that you want.
Solving for the L and W values are simple algebra after that.
Alternatively, you can find where the derivative of your A(L) or A(W) is equal to 0 (like you said, there will likely be another value that is not correct.)
Good luck.
