Ringland failures. I could be mistaken I believe I heard they are in the middle of a lawsuit over that as well. A buddy traded in his Golf R for a STI and had it 6 months, in the shop 5 out of those 6 months due to engine issues. Just get on their forums. While no brand or car is without it's problems, I wouldn't get near a Subie because of all of theirs.

love my subaru, only problems i've had was clutch in my 02 with 180k miles and current 14' wrx did the clutch, steering racks going out(common), and 4th syncro is going bad. mines been stage 2 ap tuned for like 20k miles and no problems.

04/05 were the best years for Subaru sti. But I'd never own one again because awd is boring
