Gambling is fun (for some people), costs money and can be addictive. Those inherent characteristics are present in almost everything that people do to pass time, so it's something you cannot use as a basis to ban it.

What makes gambling unique is that it has absolutely no limit on how much money you can spend in a short time frame.

A poor person who plays video games might spend 60$ unwisely after getting his paycheck. A poor person who gambles may very well blow his entire paycheck in a matter of hours, which is far more problematic.

So, I think banning gambling is not exactly a good idea, but it should definitely be regulated so that there's a healthy limit on how much money you can spend on it.

It's better than video poker. With those machines in every bar/pub next to an ATM machine, some drunk person can sit there and feed their entire bank account into the machine in one night. At least with sports betting there is a limited number of events that can be bet on. I think gambling is bad for society but I don't think it should be illegal. What people do with their money is their business.

Impossible to do fairly. To do so would inhibit the rich from participating, while protecting the poor. To require some form of wealth-check would be unnecessarily invasive and entirely unreasonable.

That just creates a moral hazard that makes the stupid poor people even stupider because in that case they are shielded from the consequences of their stupidity.

True freedom is letting people have the freedom to throw their life away on their desires if they choose to do so.

Sp are we entertaining any rules changes? I would propose we drop the return yardage points. No one really builds around it. It's just kind of random.
