In some games (i.e. PoE, runescape, cs:go) buying and selling large amounts of the same item (exalts, gold, keys) at certain ratios is basically all you ever do. Atm the way you do it is you have to pull up a calculator and type in the values manually.

The process is kind of tedious and is also prone to calculation errors. It can also be a hassle/time consuming when you have a large trade you're breaking into parts and have to juggle multiple windows (game, jsp, calculator) and the guy is in game waiting for you to send.

Im suggesting a function which identifies a a multiplication sign and calculates the result for you. So you write in the equation in "amount to send" area and fill out the rest normally, press send and the total fg is sent. Somewhat confusing so Ill show what I mean.

To be clear - youd still be able to use the send form as you do now, this is just an added functionality for people buying items at set ratios and would only work if you type the "*" key (could be "x" or "X" instead, whatever works) like whats shown in the picture.

For this example, 7800fg is sent when you press the submit gold transfer button.

Let me know what you think :)

No, introduces more ways to screw up / make mistakes than it attempts to solve. I see your point but it's not hard to calculate the sum up front and I suggest to always explicitly agree on the full deal in beforehand anyway (e.g. "buying 10 pieces of item X for 50 FG/e, that's a total of 500 FG").

I mean everyone who sits on d2jsp is most likely sitting on a PC, and all PC's have a calculator! So it's really easy to use that one if you need to calculate how much FG you need to send for the things you need to buy.
If you sitting on a phone, well im pretty sure all phones also have a calculator so then it's easy to use that one to.

I agree with this.
Have the trade outlined before hand to avoid issues.

I dont see the harm in making it an option for people to use or not use.

I also dont see the way(s) it could be screwed up either... care to elaborate? I did think about this and do see one way, not multiple... Only thing I can think of is perhaps not hitting the shift key and accidentally sending 200839fg instead of 200*39=7800.

But to be frank the same sort of mistake is already possible while trying to send for example 7800.05 fg --> 780005 fg by missing the period. Or just in general typos and perhaps sending 78000fg instead of 7800 by pressing 0 by mistake a third time.

Id be down for it to be with the "x" key instead of "*" key... that way its not a symbol on a number key and and physically removed on the keyboard.

You cant idiot proof everything though... if you didnt feel safe using it.. don't use it

I know this. Using a manual calculator is prone to error just as much and introduces an additional place to have a typo - both in the calculation portion and in the copying of the number into jsp - so that actually overall not safer than the alternative im suggesting.

Its also just slow, clunky and tedious if youre engaging in a dozen trades in the span of 30 minutes.

this:) my vote also No, I think that probability of making a mistake in Windows calculator is comparable, and user has time to notice and correct mistake while writing result as number in forum gold sending form. Although I see some Yes, so maybe not bad idea :) good luck.

Sorry man had to vote no also, it’s super easy to do the math ahead of time, and both parties agree on it.

Traded here for 13 years, never needed this, if you make mistakes on a pc calculator you will make them here too.
