Laugh all you want, it would be great for the sport if an entertainer like him would get a hold of the belt.

I'm bummed we never got to see Jones vs prime Silva, but I believe if Adesanya works hard on his defensive wrestling and becomes a more complete version of Silva, he and Walker will have the most chance against Jones compared to others. Even though Jones does not have any apparent weakness, if I could name one it would be his boxing defense. He has shown to be hittable. What kind of fighter would you choose to exploit that weakness? Someone who is known for precision, timing and hand speed. That's Adesanya.

/e: I think the Gastelum fight didn't show Adesanya's striking skills. His brain got jarred early in the fight (could happen to anyone) and it messed with his coordination and reflexes, the things his game heavily relies on. His footwork against Gastelum wasn't quite the same as I saw in his other fights. He wasn't able to show how superior his striking is to others. If they rematch Adesanya will style on him.

I'm all for the underdog, but Santos doesn't deserve the title. He's just not good enough and him as a champ would make the belt lose its legitimacy. I want to save it for someone like Walker. Or if Adesanya decides to put on some muscle.

Anything is better than a junkie keeping that belt imo

At the end of the day Jon IS the GOAT.

He has the skills, drive and killer instinct like none other.

Even during complete ridicule, shame and embarrassment from his legal horrors/ failed drug tests.. he still comes back and out classes everyone.

No amount of enhancements can make you become a fighter like JBJ.

Total douche bag, but the absokute with out a doubt GOAT of mma

If they were to fight in a kickboxing match, sure Adasenya has a real chance. Dude is very talented.

But you think Gas shook his brains up early, Jones would put him on his ass and one good elbow later he’s on Queer Street.

If Luke Rockhold had a chin I think he would be a real threat, but can’t take a punch. Weidman has the skill set to give him trouble, but he’s to small.

when you look at his last 10 fights. or even 5. there all bums. or people that cant beat jones ( dc ). its going to take a big dude who punches hard. and jones over the last few years has really gone hard on stand up. hes going to stand with him for sure.

The light heavyweight division is indeed a wasteland, just like the heavyweight division. A 200 lb limit on lhw and no upper limit on hw would help to solve this problem.

Many middleweights (Weidman, Romero, Costa... maybe even a lighter mw like Adesanya if he'd ever want Jones) will move up to lhw and big guys like Jones will be either forced to move up to hw or lose some muscle and stay where he's at. The 20 lb step between mw and lhw is too big and doesn't make sense to me.

It's a weird spot bro, kinda like Barry Bonds in baseball. He clearly is the best to ever do it, but also blatantly caught cheating.
