Slain Monsters Rest in Peace prevents monsters killed by the user from leaving a corpse. It does not apply when kill is made by any dependants of the user (mercenary, pets including sentry traps and Hydra, or converts, or monsters killed by other monsters due to Attract or Confuse).

The easiest way to stop him from using corpse explosion is to kill him first before any minions.
