Has anybody done any research on how prof is gained? Is it 1 prof for every x amount of actions/x amount of damage dealt? Or does It differ depending on which abilities your using?

What would be the best ability setup to gain prof, and is it better to spam them or wait for more percentage for prof gains?

I guess generally the more actions the more profs you gain. The amount of hits to gain 1 prof point are variable so i am pretty sure there is a certain chance to gain a prof point.. so you can get no point for 10 hits and then get 3 points for 3 hits. Different monsters have different chances to give profs, for example eps or wellmonsters give a lot more profs than normal monsters (there you have a better chance to get a point for a hit). heals have a better chance to grant a prof point than attack charms too.
so lower charge --> more actions --> more profs. multi strike should give more profs than power strike or other abilities too

ahh alright and when your prof is level 10 do you no longer get prof from tier V weapon/charm(level 10) or is it once your level 11 you no longer gain any prof from tier V/level 10?

if you have lvl 10 profs you just start getting profs when you are lvl 11 yourself (doesnt matter if you use a lvl5 or 10 weapon)

Also. Your only gain prof on 100% damage so if the mob has 100 life and you hit for 500, no prof. So basically any last hits no chance for prof. Or significantly lower.

Also. Using Lower level items also reduces prof.

So using a lvl 10 at lvl 25 much lower prof.

Your best bet for prof honestly would be to climb to 101 with some monster tank armors on. Probably would be pulling out the 10 prof per wave max.

On warlock do you guys think chaos + multi is best abilities to use for max prof gains per climb or should you also take a third ability?

Yeah i guess chaos + multi even though i dont like chaos on warlock
