https://pcpartpicker.com/list/qH7bRJ

main monitor is running at 144hz, using a display-port
second monitor is running at 60hz, using a hdmi

im getting super low frame rates when i use 2 monitors, to the point where its not worth using two monitors
could this be because two different cables?
really could use some help here

one monitor hooked up

two monitors hooked up, frame rates are low on both monitors when two are connected

what mac do you have? and if you don't have the Correct HDMI cord, 60hz is the max. But you shouldn't see dramatic frame rate drop in 60hz.

if you change over to a display to display you will see an improvement, or get an hdmi cable that is able to do 144hz

says sync failure which probably means u got it settup wrong somehow

are ur 144hz set to as primary monitor? u can do this in nvidia control panel - set up multiple displays

useing 2 monitors with displayport and hdmi should not cause problems.. have done it myself in the past..

wow i totally read this entire forum wrong. I apologize.

Have you tried using "Smart" Adapters? that might help with the frame rate drop.

update

my settings btw,
https://imgur.com/a/a4GSaEF

changes ive made
two 1.4 display-port cables,
both monitors set to 144hz,
power management mode turn to performance in nvidia control panel,
windows power to performance also in windows control panel,
power management, high performance option
turned off vertical sync,

current problem
now when i power my computer on im fine, both monitors run at at 144hz and 144 frames,
but after i load a game or just open twitch on the other monitor, frames drop to 30ish, on both monitors
even if i exit out of everything, they stay at 30ish and dont go back up

Yeah I did,
I kinda want to install win10, so I have a clean slate, and maybe everything will work fine then lol.
Idk what else to do

Its kinda a common issue across all windows
Some people suffer some don't

You will see this problem on many different forums even with people having 2 144hz monitors

Many got it working here and there too with other random things like lowering hz on 60hz display
