Hey guys, playing single player for the first time in 10+ years.

Using plugy and walking through. Have a ~L60 windy druid (hoping to respec to wolf once I have enough gear) and ~L50 sorc. Got to hell and struggling really bad with progression.

Any suggestions on how to farm sufficient gear to progress? Farmed NM bosses a bunch but don't have much to show for it. Best drop is peasant crown, SOE, spirit sword, etc.

keep farming nm bosses till you can show for it

and anyhthing specific to aim for?

druid will do better vs meph over andy
fire sorc is more efficient with andy
blizz sorc meph

anyone have suggestions on budget merc survivability items in nm/hell?

for basic

armor: treache>duriels>shaft>lionheart>smoke
helm: any helm with LL, you know when its upgrade. Crafted bloodhelm works on nightmare before first +5ll helm

I always get by with a Kelpie Snare (75% slow) weapon, Tals Mask, and Treachery armor (Shael Thul Lem) when Im struggling and need a merc who can survive act 1 hell.

You can find a lot of good merc gear farming NM Meph as well (Vamp Gaze, Shaftstop, etc)

the gear listed above all has decent res.
vipermagi (+20-35@)
smoke (+50@)
ancient's pledge (+43 CR, +48 FR,LR,PR)
rhyme (+25@)
you can also try to find a rockstopper to switch out the peasant crown which would give you a big boost to FR, CR, LR

vamp gaze, tal helm, shaftstop, treachery is what you want on your merc, with probably an insight or infinity for sorc depending on spec, or reapers/lawbringer for druid
until then, blood helm, rockstopper, rockfleece are decent stepping stones.

any suggestions which weapon my merc should use between those 4? he's still getting 2 shot by hell andy. anything else i can do to help with that?


i'm able to farm hell andy/meph now, but the runs are pretty slow and inefficient. does it make more sense to stay in NM?
