So ive been thinkin on gettin back into wow after like a 8 year hiatus, but wonder whats the most cost effective way

Will i be able to play classic if i dont have all the expansions?

Yes, you can play Classic with no expansions, all it requires is that you have a subscription. You are allowed to buy Battle.net balance with forum gold, so even if they were to somehow prevent tokens from working for Classic, you'd still be covered.

I will also point out, that even if you run out of forum gold, it is cheaper to buy gold on a site like playerauctions and use that gold to buy WoW time, than it is to actually pay for a WoW sub lol.

If it's the free account you can only have 10 gold. You would have to resubscribe once first to get everything started. Unless you happen to have 130k gold sitting on your account, then you could automatically by a token.

Your best bet would be to buy $20 worth of b.net balance your first time around, then use gold. You can't only buy $15, because now they charge tax.
