Lite sorc by a mile. Higher damage, higher mobility and lightning is a better AOE spell because it takes less time to reach the target on average and is easier to target.

The only immunes that aren't breakable with infinity are mostly in Act I, II and III (zones which nobody would ever farm anyway) - which just leaves the occasional lightning enchanted boss. Given that wave 2 in throne is always magic immune, if you were running CBaals, the light sorc and hammerdin will face approximately the same number of immunes per run.

If doing chaos runs: Hammerdin
If doing anything else: Lite sorc

Lite sorc for chaos runs too - that's literally a lite sorc's specialty.

Of course but I'd argue that chaos is the only place in which a hammer may rival or beat a sorc in terms of speed since the 1 or 2 frames of slower tele don't matter as much since it's an almost fixed map and that the better resilience hammerdins have help telestomp and tank better.

Er ... no, on average Lite sorcs are A LOT stronger than Hammerdins when both have endgame gear. The only relevant light immunes are the seal bosses which your merc will polish off very easily. Hammerdins are much slower vs. everything else - and it's not close.
