Hello and welcome to this edition of selling a car online!
Usernames and websites will be edited out for obvious reasons.

My car:

Nothing special, tons of miles on it. But it still works great!

Here are the responses I've gotten, I wish i could understand what is going on in these people's heads (these offers are read from bottom to top)

now i may be math deficient but I'm pretty sure $600 is less than your initial offer of $800 there bud....

again, where do these people get their information? lol
for those curious fair condition is worse then good and therefore would be the least money
here's the screenshot i sent this guy: https://i.imgur.com/AdsVrUy.png

Have you guys had similar experiences with selling your cars online?

He was just trying to get the car cheap imo

Nothing wrong with it, if you were desperate or stupid enough, he gets a cheap car, otherwise keep it moving, no insults, just 2 people with different motives

its called haggling and is no reason to get upset or butthurt. you cant always agree on a price with a person.
honestly i would not give more then 1000$ tops for that car.

haggling is one thing, offering less then your initial offer is just disrespectful
may i ask why $1000 would be your top price?

well considering the car is 14ish year old its starting to get towards its time in life when electrical gremlins will more then likely start becoming a issue.
also with the car having over 210k miles it will more then likely need new steering components and possibly suspension also. not to mention i personally consider any motor over 200k miles just a ticking time bomb at that point.

I think KBB is only good and accurate for modern cars, i.e post 2008.

KBB estimates all those factors in and also take into consideration what vehicles have gone for in your area. You may get less for your car or you may get more but KBB gives fine estimates on what it could possibly go far. You look at a car go buy, spend 80 bucks and get it inspected instead of assuming this and that could be wrong with it. Most the people I've seen here talk about cars probably shouldn't be giving their opinion, leave that to the shops. Dont guess and burn yourself because you read something on Google once.

youre totally right, a smart person would take the car to get inspected before purchasing it
seems like most people here and irl just like to assume everything is wrong to get the cheapest price possible

had one guy tell me he'd only give me $800 because he wanted to put a new engine in
