I personally liked Vanilla. I played a lot of HC. I liked trading and the way the game felt when trading existed.
Now, a lot of people seem to think trade being removed was the best way to help the game.
I ask: How so?
Do you feel empowered by a leaderboard system DOMINATED by botters? Take a look at the #1 SC wizard. 3250 Paragon. 615 hours in 27 days since season launched. That's 22+ hours per day, every day, for 27 days... He probably bots 15+ hours while he sleeps and trims his neck beard, then just fishes GRs and stomps all your best scores by miles and miles.
The 2nd place Wizard is paragon 2300 and has played nearly 400 hours. Meaning that dude is GRINDING HIS ASS OFF... 14+ hours per day... Doing everything he can, just to sniff the farts of a botter who he will never catch because the botter is always going to have a 5000+ main stat advantage.
Did I mention he also has the top 2 man score by a gap of 140 - 132 (132 being the next closest GR in 2 man to him).
Did I mention he also has the top 3 man score by a gap of 5 rift levels?... and that the friends he partied with there have 500+ hours in 27 days as well?
Don't worry, though, he hasn't pushed 4 man yet. So that shit is still up for grabs.
FWIW - I'm not some bitter rank 8 wizard who is salty that some dude is crushing the leaderboards. I'm the guy who plays for 2 weeks after a season reset, then realizes that botters are already 1000-1500 paragon ahead of me with 11 augmented 130+ gems on fully primal gear and just stops playing because who cares?
Removing trade and making the game all one big luck-only loot grind, where people spend 100 hours farming bloodshards, to gamble at an NPC, for a 1/10,000 chance at a 1% damage upgrade, so they can salvage their previous slot and re-level a 130+ gem to re-augment the new 1% better gear... how was that good for Diablo? The gap between botters and regular human beings is just made even wider by removing trade.
Keep defending your dead game, though. After the first 2-3 weeks are over, it's just 30-40 people left pushing the leaderboards while everyone else realizes what a waste of time the game is and quits. I stopped playing 2 weeks ago. Since then the 1000th ranked wizard spot went from GR 116 to GR 117. Top 500 was always GR 120, since the first week after reset... So no one in the bottom 700-900 wizards is even playing anymore.
