i have a top mounted psu case and my question is if i buy a psu that has the fan on the top could i put that in my top mounted case up side down without affecting it?
or should i aim for a psu specifically built with fan in the bottom

e: to clarify i have no vent in the top of my case or else i would just use either

Yes, the power supply WILL go in upside down. It only matters that the power supply fan in NOT blocked.
The case itself is NOT a good design, because the power supply intake fan will be sucking hot air right off the CPU heatsink, but it WILL work.

yeah ive seen bottom mounted and to pmounted with vents on top of the case but for years all i ever saw was this kind of top mounted
and it worked so i mean...whatever lol
plus im not running an OC intel cpu so its not that hot tbh my gpu prob creates the most heat but my fans should be venting that pretty good
but even then i have my gpu temps controlled with the program it came with for the fans and it generally stays pretty low even at 100% use

sure it can be done, but its bad imo

psu will be more efficient bottom mounted with clean intake instead of hot air, fact

top mounted is old af, back when parts dident output the heat they do today, and psu fan was rear mounted

not to mention psu is heavy, much nicer to have in the bottom..

if its a high end psu, i'd recommend getting a new case
