When you look in a thread or in your pm box you see people as black (online in the last few minutes) or grey (offline).


What if there was a scaling amount of grey added so someone last seen

0seconds - 1 minute is pure black

1minute-5 minutes - a little greyer

5-10 minutes - a little greyer

10-20 minutes- almost completely grey

20 minutes + totally grey like it is now

but why?
Also you need to re-do this with a poll option.

Definitely include the why cause I'm not sure if this would be useful (at least to me)

Just as notifications keep you in touch with who quotes you in which threads without you having to check manually, seeing when the person was last seen will help a lot with trading on all platforms. If you have 2 or 3 options for example to pm someone about a ber rune, you'll probably pm the guy who was last seen only a few seconds ago.

If you're going to pm someone back about something you might be more inclined to do so if you see that the other person was just connected to jsp only a few seconds ago.

There is "last seen" but you have to check somone's profile for that. This would be a way to tie that into the greyness of a persons screen name. It would be one more way to stay in touch with people more often.

I see what you are saying. For sure. For myself, if I have posted an iso, a ber to use your example, there are a number of factors I use to determine who I will trade with. Who posted in my thread first. Who's prices are better. What their join date is. If I've traded with them before. If I've seen them around the site being GM or bm. I don't think I've ever based a trade on who was most recently last seen.

Of course you have. You traded with the guy who has a thread up, not necessarily with the guy who posted a few hours before. If you see that the person is online, you'll be much more inclined to trade with him, even if the other guy's prices are higher being afk.
