I have an HP laptop and I'm trying to use a larger HP monitor I have as my main display.

I'd like to be able to close the laptop and just use the larger monitor.

It works fine for a little bit, but after 10-15 mins the screen freezes up and I can't do anything at all.

The only way I can get anything to work again is to open the laptop up and then I have to setup the monitor again as primary monitor again.

It just eventually freezes up again and I have to keep messing with the laptop to get it going again.

Has anyone seen this issue before and know how to fix it? I've searched google without any luck.

All suggestions I've tried do not fix the problem.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

Should be a setting withing power management "choose what closing the lid does" make sure that's set to do nothing, and make sure there's no timer to turn off your screen or sleep due to inactivity.

I've set all that up already. I have it set to do nothing when lid is closed and all sleep settings are off.
I'm thinking maybe the monitor needs to be replaced, but was hoping I could make it work still somehow.

Settings look like this:

Are there any other settings I might need to change?

Windows 10
About ready to just toss monitor and go get a new one.

Weird it just started doing it the last 2 days tho.
I don't think I changed anything, but clearly something did change.
