My 87 GT is a 5 speed with 3:73 posi rear end and a 347 stroker for power. I have stock rims and tires(not gatorbacks they came with but stock size and just all season radials) and it's a blast to drive in the rain and snow as long as you don't have to stop fast. I have driven mine through about 7 or 8 inches of unplowed snow to win a bet against a friend. However, on hard packed plowed roads or icy conditions, its sketchy to say the least but if you don't get out of hand with the gas pedal its doable. I grew up with big motor rear wheel drive cars too, so I have been driving them for years.
