I can stream perfectly fine off xbox but it gets really choppy even on the lowest settings when i stream on pc.
After about a hour i get 90% dropped framerates.

So i need a new cpu for streaming asap.

Operating System
Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
CPU
Intel Core i5 @ 2.80GHz 35 °C
Coffee Lake 14nm Technology
RAM
16.0GB Dual-Channel Unknown @ 1064MHz (15-15-15-35)
Motherboard
ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. PRIME B360M-A (LGA1151) 26 °C
Graphics
2252W (1920x1080@60Hz)
4096MB ATI Radeon RX 470 Graphics (MSI) 53 °C
Storage
489GB Crucial_CT525MX300SSD1 (SATA (SSD)) 21 °C

300-450$ budget

If any other upgrades you can think go ahead and throw them in there i might buy it overtime !

I was thinking a i7 8700k, Ive sen them onsale at a few places.

sell your old cpu/ram and buy an aio cooler for the cpu.

ram prices have dropped a lot since I've looked!

/e what speed ram do you have, you dint have xmp profile enabled in bios.

sell old cpu buy a 9900k. no point upgrading ram imo.

or better yet hold off for new amd cpu's and sell your mobo/ram/cpu for a new setup.

ditch rx 470for a better gpu if you play more demanding shit then fortnite.

Then your call, might have to get 9700k + cooler to oc cause its 480 for 9900k.
But imo your better off with a amd setup as it will favor the additional cores.
Though it may be a hassle to sell old mobo/ram/cpu to make the switch but will be worth it.

Low on thread count so if hes streaming at higher quality, it's really not enough. It also sounds like he might be temp throttling, poor factory cooler.

not really enough for high quality streaming and more cpu demanding games maybe... but for "lowest settings" stream and fornite he should be fine..

but u guys just advice him to go buy 9900k lol real nice :D he is not gonna need a 9900k to stream fortnite come on guys :D

I use streamlabs and i steam at 720fps/30frames 4000bitrate

But if i stream on pc with same thing i have to use the lowest settings or my cpu usage goes to 95% and i get 99% dropped framerates.

So i know for a fact its my cpu.

Just wait 2 months and see what new AMD offers. If you really dont wanna wait, get the current gen 26/2700 with a decent mobo and you can drop in the next gen CPU down the road.
