Topic Title: Need a Laptop PC
Description: Gaming
Budget: n/a
More specific use (what games, what programs): WOW at max settings
Planned time until purchase: ASAP
Do you have any specific preferred components?:Nope
Do you need a bigger monitor? mouse? full keyboard?: Larger screen size for cheapest price
Zip code/location? (Shipping costs): 90501

Hey fellas, looking for a gaming laptop to play wow at my friends house basically. No real budget for it but I would like as cheap as I can get that’ll run wow at max or near max settings(shouldn’t be too hard). I’ve only purchased one laptop before so I have no idea what kinda price points I’d be looking at for this.

You need to be more specific. You can get a 720p 60hz panel and play near max on integrated graphics or spend 3k on a 1440p 144hz 17" thick boi and have it weigh nearly as much as an actual desktoo.

I personally wouldn't go for any computer/laptop with less than 16GB of RAM at this point. 16GB is definitely a strong sweet spot for now IMO. I utilise 100% of my work laptop's 8GB RAM sometimes just with excel and chrome running.

Rest of this forum will probably have slightly different views as they tend to be hardcore AF whereas I'm 99% noob.

Also I wouldn't buy a laptop just to play WOW at a mate's house - think longer term. Can you build a desktop instead and avoid having a sub-optimal, overheating mess?

I already have a good desktop rig, this’ll be basically for LAN parties sorta. Just playing while I’m at my friends house, that’s why I don’t want to break he bank since this’ll seriously only be used 5-10 hours a week

Just build an itx desktop or lan travel... or just build a second desktop without a graphics card and just keep it at his house then all you gotta do is bring your gfx card pop it in and play.

Cheaper than buying a laptop that can provide the same performance...

looool what are these advice.. guy ask for a laptop to play wow on is that so hard?

You can probably run it with integrated graphics on low settings with low fps but that wont be nice

So u need one with a gpu in it if u wanna run max settings.. probably one with a 1050 will handle it well
