Spear require precision. Lion is dumb. Start spinning around in circles with the claymore using centripotalmforce to maintain your position. (Imagine barb we animation) You can get it going 30 mph. Lion will run right into u imagine if it's his snout or arm it will cut it clean off 100% then he's mostly useless but he might still try to crawl and hobble to you. Also a claymore is long enough to be used as a spear.. was a common tactic in medieval time. Now if it was a bear u would be fucked cuz even if u cut its arm off if would maul the fk outta u. There have been cases of hunters shooting bears after which the bears mauls them to death and dies. Cuz the shot hit heir heart , but they kept on going

If it’s in the wild my best bet is to make a bunch of noise waving the claymore around and hope the lion goes after easier prey. Was my main reasoning for the spear as well.
