Shaman druid is pretty fun and safe

In Hell your Grizzly will pretty much just turn into a tank for your merc, and it will be your merc doing almost all the damage to FIs. But Grizzly will keep him alive so that's nice

Another option is to max Fissure/Volcano/Boulder/Firestorm, 1 in Grizz and rest to oak.

I definitely considered shaman instead of a hybrid. I also considered doing a hunter, but I want to kill things myself and not just recast summons all day.

Hell, let's add Hunter as an option.

Wielding a bow yes? I'd vote for hunter. I think he could realistically use daggers as well.

I'll play a Hunter after the paladin. I'm afraid the Hunter will be just as grindy. So I'll shelve it until after the paladin is done. (Only one grindy character at a time.)

How does a druid gain damage for a bow, Just HoW?

That sounds rough in single player.. Without shockwave I would think it would be pretty hard to complete it...

HoW, Might Merc, rune words ... in general, though, you just sit there and recast summons.

Normal - Whatever the best bow you can find
Nightmare - Edge/Harmony
Hell - Faith

Notice that all of those bows give your summons a boost more than you a boost. A double Shael'ed Witchwild with it's 20 MA is basically the same attack damage that my MA zon had.
