Just stop... please.

9700/9900k with a 2080 ti under water will serve your needs for a good while.

This would be a well thought out build. The PSU can be changed around a bit and you could do custom sleeved cables down the road more tailored to a theme you may want. Storage is personal preference, they all are relatively the same grade now. The fans you can change around to be a little less etc.

what makes a good motherboard I have no clue what actually sets them apart other than the price.

What art said, caps and phase changers are the two big ones if you ever OC it.

That board/cpu is actually what i'm running now and I'm stable at 5 GHZ. Asus is generally the most friendly to tweak and generally a better product.

It's all about preference. He's an ASUS fanboy. I'm an EVGA fanboy. If you replaced all his ASUS parts with EVGA parts, you'd save $300 on his build. As for the CPU, I'd go with an i7-8700k over an i7-9700k because an i7-9700k has half as many processors (lacks hyper-threading) and costs $100 more.

I don't OC my stuff because it's the equivalent of hot-rodding your car. Your system will last half as long.

Why spend that much on a PC to have someone else put it together. The fun part is assembling if yourself.
