I usually recommend the Samsung SSD's but one half of this forum bitches about the price. And the other half bitches if I don't recommend a Samsung.
I think the best solution is folks just recommend w/e they want, and leave the bitching about other's recommendations...totally out of the convo.
Ya know, like address the OP.
/e Not to mention that 2TB (SSD & HDD) is way more storage than 1TB and a useless 128GB.
So use an eSATA or USB for all the unnecessary bloat HDDs use?
I agree with you, but you should follow your own advice.
As for our recommendations, why don't we just recommend both when people ask? I actually really like the price and endurance rating on Crucial MX500 SSDs. I actually would buy one over a Samsung because you're are right. The speed of SSDs after a certain point doesn't really matter.
@OP
If you want to pay more for speed, reliability, and performance: Samsung 970 Evo/Evo Plus M.2 SSD
If you want to pay less for less speed and performance: Crucial MX500 M.2 SSD
FYI: I noticed the endurance rating of a 1TB Crucial MX500 M.2 SSD is 700TBW and 1TB Samsung Evo/Evo Plus is 600TBW.
*1TB Samsung PRO M.2 SSD have 1200TBW, but cost four times as much a a Crucial.
