So its been 30 days officially since I started the hobby I will update tonight.

I know have 2x 10 gallons set up and a 20 gallon community tank.

I just picked up a 66 gallon project. Needs to be re sealed and cleaned up. Also going to DIY a stand tor this beast in July at a local college it's a week long construction course.


Tonight I'm picking up a great deal from kijiji

40 bucks cash landed me a brand new 30 gallon with tons of accessories. This will be my test tank for my plans with the 66. It will be planted so first try at growing real plants and It will be a nice experience to see what I can so mid summer with my biggy

I have to be boring as hell and ask the question.

How to you keep them so cleeeeeeeeeean. How many man hours does it take to look after something like this? I love fish tanks in a home but i've always been scared of the maintenance.

not much maintenance at all, but its true what they say,the bigger, the easier it is to maintain.

my 2x 10 gallons are about an hour a week between the two, and the 20 gallon is 30 mins,

one water change a week, about 25-35% so pretty big, a bit of cloth around the glass and they are good to go

my tanks are very uinder populated as im only 30 days in so far
ill load the updates in the am, just been so busy!

- A LOOK AT THE 20 GALLON I STARTED WITH

- one of 3 female guppies I purchased, the store had no males last month

- female betta, absolute beauty and has colored up tremendously

- sailzy - the mystery snail. 1 of 3 = unfortunately my male red betta PK'd the first snail I had, so the 20gallon has the 2 and they are thriving

- a dozen zebra danios - absolute fucking ADHD speed demons, not a dull moment, very gentle with the guppys so far and the female betta is twice the size but they have numbers, no issues so far

Here is one of 2 10 gallons I picked up on kijiji this month, both 10 gallons were in excelent shape and I spend 20 bucks for both, included hang on back filter and 1 had lighting

I have one empty serving as a quarantine tank for anything else i pick up this weekend, so shes empty, but this 10 gallon has an awesome blue dwarf gourami, and 4 of 6 albino corydoras

2 died directly from the 30 mins drive from my local fish store, 4 survived for the last month, and I re-introduced the male betta because they are roughly the same size and I have having chipper in a small container

- FINALLY MY LOCAL FISH STORE HAD SOME ANGELS, NOT THE BEST BUT I SNAGGED THE LAST 3 KOI ANGELS

- 2x kuhlie loaches - I found an amazing deal on craigslist today, and I really wanted to start a planted tank, so to start, im going to raise these 2 small loaches with my angels until the 30gallon i got for cheap is ready!
