Block specific websites on google chrome? or do i need a browser extension for that?

Do it from router.
Software can As well.

uBlock Origin should support such functionality (blacklist the website; it's very simple).
You could use the host file to redirect it to say... "https://www.google.com/" so it never goes to said site.
You could also use the router level to 'block' access to said site (although it'll fail if it is an HTTPS-type link; as the router will NOT be able to read it).
You could also use the Windows firewall to block access to the website.
