Building a PC for a friend and the PC is based in an 'out house' so cable connection to the router isn't possible.

Should I

a) purchase a MOBO without WIFI functionality and plug the PC into a network extender via LAN cable

or

b) purchase a MOBO with WIFI and connect the PC to internet also via the extender

Just not sure how good the connection will be via LAN cable to network extender...

Going to be using this cheap extender https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/NREDLK1330/D-Link-DAP-1330-N300-Wireless-Range-Extender-with

NVM decided to go with the NON-WIFI mobo and can always run a very long LAN cable to the out house eventually.

I vote the latter; but ensure it's a 5GHz frequency and also ensure the "extender" and router itself are broadcasting 5GHz signals (2.4GHz / 5GHz mix will not 'increase' anything in terms of performance; two different frequencies cannot be used simultaneously, AFAIK).

Lol? 5ghz is fast but short range

5 GHz penetrates through solid matter a lot better than 2.4 GHz as well.

Aside from that: The OP clearly states that he intends on using a relay device (hopefully a slightly modified secondary router).

What the fuck are you talking about, no it doesn't... higher frequency signals cannot penetrate solid objects like walls and floors as well as lower frequency signals. Thus, the 2.4 GHz has a farther range than the 5 GHz frequency.

He's going to be CHD's #1 target now I think with all the shit he spews.
