You should use plugy.
That way you can do ubers, have big stash with several pages and change player settings to 8(i think you can change player settings to 8 anyway)
I also want that program, but i dont know if it is able to make my ingame accs locked. So have not done so yet... Can i just copy my d2 folder, install plugy on that folder and use other folder for d2 eu?

Anyway:
Meele: Get sigons gloves + 1 other parts. That will add you 30ias in gloves, and 10% ll. Both godly adds which can be used for a long while. The boots are rather decent as well with frw. 3 parts the boots will also add 50% mf which is nice. Sigons helm will add a set bonus of ar pr lvl which can be great, and belt got base nice fr and life and 4 pot rack. Meanwhile shield is base 1@ skills. Other set bonuses are more or less worthless.
Stealth is good for every char, can do countess until you have.
Leaf is nice for fire dealing chars, you also have some nice swords (cant remember name but adds nice fire skill and fire dmg)
Very early on you can have nice elemental fire dmg added to attack with catans set, which can be decent for kickers, and the ring also add ll.
Spirit sword also gets a long way late in normal.
Lore runeword is also decent and easy to make.
For characters needing high ias or actually much of the melee guys the horadric staff in act2 is a +50ias staff in fast base. In combi with fire dmg from catans set this can do its work.
If you start out as a druid shaper, buy urself a 2 handed axe called "large axe" as soon as possible, if ur lucky it spawns with 10ias and then u meet even faster ias break.

Were you find the decent items other knows better.

For nm you should look for this:
Guilaume (if melee)
Arreat (if baba, or if no guilaume)
Titans(if ama)
Raven(all)
Viper
gores
ribcracker(dudus)
Wts(amazons)
Jalal's(druid)
Some decent melee runeword like eth oath / lawbringer / other dno xD

Phaseblade and Monarch wont be found until hell.
There you got a fast blade for forexample fireclaw druid, and Spirit making from monarch. Meanwhile storm can also be found.

sounds pretty pussy to me

1. Endless storage + muling which is a huge deal in single player
2. Free respeccs, all the time, how many times and whenever you want with both skills and stats
3. Super common diablo clone, which is a joke to kill
4. Watered down ubers, which are also a joke
5. Endless cow levels with king kills
6. Item levels shown
7. Stat summary
8. Can load a lot of files d2 usually cant, allowing you to edit items much like a hero editor
9. Ladder Runewords
10. A lot of wierd ass commands, like...
