Thanks for the answers - I guess we have 3x NO so far, I guess

To me the best fix should be an option of force-removing existing glyphs (from totem or actual glyphs) which I was always surprised wasn’t there. If you allow people to stack glyphs onto each other, people will abuse it to the furthest extent possible. I’m not sure if there is enough concern over this for a change to be necessitated though... this is something affecting me personally, but I doubt there are many people who are really suffering, and even though this has been a problem, I’m really enjoying the emblems, so that I’d rather have them causing me this problem than not having them at all... :)
I agree with you. There could be new strategies too OP - call them exploits if you will, that would be even more unintended. I had this concerns - hence the discussion and the poll.
I can see two simple workarounds to this problem (actually 3 - you added the 3rd):
1. You could still use your glyph but only some of the mods from your glyph would add - the properties that don't exist on emblem glyph would add and work - the rest would be lost.
2. You could still use your glyph, all mods would add but there would be cap on each of them - like max str, max dex, crits, etc.
3. You could clear emblem glyph without having to disconnect <- just like you have suggested.

This is not a "poke the bear" comment. Simple answer is simple... don't use the "Emblem" at all if it is a concern of yours. If you have pre-planned the use of the glyphs you have bought/made, then it would be commonsense to just use those and not the "Emblem" glyphs. I guess solo would make this easier to comply with, as for group runs, most just whistle so far and don't have a pre-planned glyph setup, so they would normally use the Emblem, then the other answer is to do what they did in the past, a glypher in the group will state that they are going to use glyphs on them during the run, this way the other players can comply with not using the "Emblem" in the exploring stage of their run. I have played full climbs without using "Emblem" and using them, I don't have issues in the run either way.
1. I don't think most groups still whistle this days. My experience of last 3 months is quite the opposite. The party games are the least problematic though. You can always log out and in from LS to remove emblem glyph(s) and join your party again (and keep the map).
2. Emblems are great. So I love to use them even in solo games. Sometimes I find sneaky or another quest or just 3 EPs on higher levels and I want to use my glyph to buff critical strike, life steal, strength, etc. but there's another useless property on my glyph that just also happens to be on emblem glyph... That is the case I was thinking of from the beginning.
