So is anyone else confused as to why Sansa said the North will never bend the knee again when the king of the realms would be a fucking Stark, and when they were pretty freaking ready to bend the knee to Jon?

That entire scene was so poorly written.

One of the worst in the entire show. I was very underwhelmed by this episode. Still loved the show, but this was a letdown for me.

Using diablo 2 terminology to describe an unrelated topic is an instant L

The kid has downs man. He legitimately believes he and the one kid as dumb as he is throwing a fit, was me getting "slapped around".

This is a perfect example of why Jon and Danny needed to not end up together, inbreeding ruins lives.

It's pretty frustrating to me because there are a few obvious changes you could make to the episode to make it significantly better. I mean you could never tell the story properly without an extra season but like a few changes to the finale could fix so many things.

I'm right there with you. It's especially frustrating with how much complaining the masses have done over non-issues or things they clearly didn't understand and the writers to actually shit the bed on the finale, is just a giant fuckkkkkkkkkk, come on moment. Is what it is. Hopefully the prequels will start out strong and we can focus on that, rather than dwelling on how poorly they closed this one out.

good nothing is done with it rip

I mean, it absolutely without a doubt helped push Danny into her rage. Would have seemed a lot less believable if everything was just honkey dorey and perfect with Jon boy and she hadn't been *betrayed* by her adviser and she still burned a bunch of women and children to death.

That's why I was so confident it couldn't be him. It makes nooooooooooooooooo sense from a logical standpoint. I had hoped D&D just leaked that to mislead people, but nope, they actually went full retard with it. Him being someone who doesn't want the job and breaking the cycle is understandable, but they could have literally given it to half the people there and they would have fit that description.

It served as the wedge that drove Jon/Dany apart. Without that, we could have been headed for Jon/Dany happily ever after. 3ER had to find a way to stop that.

I agree that that council scene was awful. I assume that we were supposed to believe that the other lords had been given full understanding of the 3ER's power offscreen. In that case, I can see why they might be like 'hey, magic powers, let's give this guy a chance'

I get where you are coming from, and that might be GRRMs overall plan with Jon's heritage... But the writers totally dropped the ball in that regard. Like they tried to build tension I guess, but to me none of it felt like it was about his rightful claim.

100% they fucked up with it, but it did serve a purpose. Was it multiple books with massive foreshadowing/hinting and a resurrections worth of purpose? Not a fucking chance. I was just pointing out that something happened with that. I'm still disappointed of course by how that all went down too, but was just playing devils advocate.

I think that saying that Jon's heritage is part of what drove her mad is giving the writers too much credit though. Like as the audience trying to project meaning into someone else's work it's pretty acceptable to think it did, but I don't think the writers did anything sufficient enough to suggest it did.

I don't think you're wrong, I just don't think the writers addressed it properly.

I believe I can fix the final episode by changing like 4 scenes, but there is no way in hell you can fix all the other issues without more seasons.
