It's so amazing what happened with this show. There are so many shows that go downhill deep into it and by the end aren't amazing. Plenty of shows that fuck up a series finale. But no show has ever been as good, been as hyped and not just let down after a 2 year hiatus, but like be actually terrible. And I don't need to read the JSP room to realize that this was the biggest fuck up of all time. This show on rotten tomatoes goes from a 94/93 in season 6, a 93/85 in season 7... a drop-off but not crazy... to a 54/35 in season 8. I mean holy shit. No show has ever been this hyped. This was and still is but for the wrong reasons, a cultural phenomenon.

You could almost do anything, you have 2 years and 6 episodes to blow our mind. Each episode is movie length. You have all the characters built up and they can go in a million cool directions and reach their peaks for better or for worse. And we got that. Pretty incredible. I'm actually enamored by how much they actually fucked this up. It's like the show Revolution, I don't know if any of you have seen it, but it had such a cool plot but it was just written so poorly and I only kept watching because it was actually funny to see how ridiculous they would get with it.

I'll surely tune into the D&D Star Wars train wreck.

/e Also I can't wait to look back and see what a mistake they made in not making two more seasons of GoT and instead going to make trainwreck Star Wars movies, it's absolutely going to destroy their legacies. They'll be remembered as the bozos that were great at adapting a book but couldn't write to save their lives for two of the most important cultural films/series in our life times in GoT and Star Wars. And god forbid that go ahead and start making that series where slavery still exists in the South.

Anyone who thinks S8 is a 54 is a retard. It isn't up for debate.

Where people give a big fat 0 when they dislike something and the ones that likes it give it a 100.

Season 7 and 8 were disappointing. The finale was quite good relative to the rest of season 8 and most characters had an appropriate ending.

There should have been another season to develop the plots involving the White Walkers attacking from the north and the siege of Kings Landing, but rather than a feeling of betrayal I feel gratitude to what was a great show which had some of the best scenes in TV history.

Most importantly, the ending hasn't made re-watching it impossible (e.g. Lost, Dexter). Have some perspective.

HBO and GRRM wanted 10 or 11 seasons, but D&D wanted to be done with it and move on to Star Wars. https://youtu.be/fQfCzGcODUM

Yes.

Shows like The Flash got higher than 54s. Anyone who thinks the Flash is better than S8 should be shot.
