Evolution takes time. If you wipe out the population in a few generations due to a sudden change thats how extinctions happen.

There's not really any evolutionary pressure for a baby to not shit its pants lol. As for the other things there could be any number of explanations, it could be that in some situations infanticidal tendencies benefit the tribe, if there is a shortage of resources for example. It could be that mental disorders are simply a byproduct of our big brains that is outweighed by the obvious benefits of being smarter than everything else. Evolution isn't perfect. It also could just be that those things are environmentally triggered by things we haven't been adequately selected to deal with yet, we know for example that prolonged stress resulting from say a 40+ hour workweek in a high pressure deadline filled job can lead to mental health issues, and that exposure to somewhat ubiquitous chemicals like lead and mercury can cause mental health issues. We are a dysgenic abomination race living in ever increasingly unnatural conditions, some things are bound to crack eventually.

there isn't an evolutionary reason to shit one's pants, but pants themselves are an evolutionary adaptation. it takes 1 day to invent pants, maybe 100 years to get everyone to wear them. it takes a long time for infants of your species to gain conscious control of their bowels through evolutionary means. so give babies some time to catch up to the pants, and in the mean time we have diapers. because even if babies could control their bowels they'd still shit their pants just to watch someone clean it up.

Evolution doesnt really care about mental disorders if it doesnt impair reproduction. You can function until breeding age with most mental disorders so theres no pressure to select against them. Same reason we have wisdom teeth problems.

Also, having big brains is more beneficial to survival than an occasional mental disorder is harmful.
