Well as it turns out i might have spoken too soon, it might not be as bad as i initially thought ..though i have absolutely no interest in the topic at hand but the reports all seem to be good so far, so far the only thing ive been reading is that with ps3 leaderboards, yes i said ps3, your rank in certain games will be reset, your new account name wont show on those leaderboards, just your previous account name, etc
So for instance ..if you had a rank related trophy you were working on wether it be a base game trophy or dlc, lets say you need to be level 100 and you last left off at level 99, well if you just changed your account name, youre level 1 again, theres been reports of these rank resets in games like call of duty and uncharted 3 for example, its still a brand new system, give it time, im sure theres other games that have been affected aswell but so far it only seems to be with last gen consoles
Ive been following this topic for a little bit now because of the demand behind it. Its been said that when PSN first went live, these kind of changes weren’t implemented into the system, and such changes could have drastic changes, take these rank resets as a prime example
But it seems to be, for now anyways that theyve atleast optimized it for ps4, best of luck to those debating changing your account name
