Personally I would have shot the guy who renamed my domain but nothing can be done now. :)

So are these machines, if you took them off the domain co,pletely and set up a new profile on them with basic user rights. Are they still unbearably slow?

Or is the slowness only in your app?

Yeah, in the dictionary, under "Outside IT Companies We're Never Hiring Again", it says, "See: This Situation"

Ohhh way ahead of that train, as soon as they are wrapped up with everything they were already paid to do, never again

If it wasn’t for me having to leave for military duties they never would have been called in
It’s a relatively small aerospace CNC facility, and I’m the youngest one there by 25 years and the only one with IT knowledge, so they decided they didn’t have a choice while I was away

I assume you've done the simple stuff like FlushDNS and drop readd to the new domain.

Does the NEW domain have scavenging enabled by chance?

https://www.dell.com/support/article/us/en/19/sln290798/windows-server-how-to-configure-dns-aging-and-scavenging?lang=en

Basically it prunes old devices from a DNS

If you have an ip conflict or a name conflict it can cause ridiculous things to happen. It's one of the reasons I always say "it's a DNS issue" regardless of what's wrong :)

You'll want to check your forward lookupzones for conflicts.

You know what FlushDNS is right? If not a quick google search will give you instructions.
