Hunters are really strong, especially early. They don't scale great with gear. But that won't matter until after bwl.

Ally rogues get to feast on shamans whereas horde rogues have to face super annoying paladins. For mages, the situation is completely opposite as shamans are one of the banes of your existence.

Also horde gets to be undead ... huge advantage right there as WotF is one of most imbalanced abilities in vanilla.

overall, rogues are going to be one of the most played classes because there is just too much value in the fact that stealth allows you to choose your battles.

Hunters were insaney strong in pvp, especially in combination with engineering (rocket boots babyy!). Also, there was outplay potential against every other class, even rogues, flares were really op (and still are? Dunno, quit playing after TBC).
