Circlet and Coronet are Normal (Basic) grade helms, Tiara is Exceptional and Diadem is Elite.

if the item you have is a circlet then the you need to up first with tal shael p. diamond then afterward you can up the 2nd time with lem ko p. diamond.
if the item you have it Diadem, then you CAN'T up a elite item.

hope you know if you place the lem ko p. diamond in the cube they will just poof.

Armor refers to any sort of armor, including helms, boots, belts, gloves and shields, not just body armor.

Didn't know those were considered as rare armor. learn something today.

Had to use ral+thul+P amethyst to go circ>tiara, Ko+Pul+P amethyst tiara to diadem
