finally decided to install my m.2 ssd via pcie ive had for 2 years now thought it would be a plug n play but not the case

motherboard is a gigabyte z68ma-d2h-b3
ssd is intel series 6 nvme m.2 512gb i assume its not compatible with my mb but i know there are ways around this

i have flashed bios to newest uefi version but still says its legacy bios in system information

ssd shows as storage device in windows but not able to change/find in bios
at one point i was even able to install windows 10 on it

spent about 2 days digging around found a few things but nothing id like to try
was trying to mod bios from youtube video but the links did not work for the bios tool

will upgrade computer in 2 years so would love to get this working till that day w/o bricking my system

sadly those things you don't wanna try ARE your options.

would you recommend trying one of these options
or
buying sata adapter instead should work as plug n play just not at speeds i was hoping for
or
upgrade to an m.2 equipped motherboard (under $100 if possible)

you wont notice the speed boost really. go sata route or sell it imo.

100% agree with KA.

You will see minimal speed if anything at all.
Just sell it IMHO
