Budget: 1000-1500
More specific use (what games, what programs): I would like to play the hottest games atm: csgo, r6, pubg, apex, mtg arena, dead by daylight, division 2, destiny 2, black ops 4
Planned time until purchase: immediately to half a year
Do you need an Operating System?: yea unless I can somehow use my current PC's windows 10 on the new machine.
Do you have any specific preferred components?: yeah most likely intel for cpu and nvidia for gpu unless AMD has got better over the past years
Do you need a sound or wireless card?: sound card would be great
Do you want stock cooling or do you plan on overclocking?: i want liquid cooling, i really dislike heat
Do you need a monitor? mouse? keyboard?: nope
Zip code/location? (Shipping costs): CAD

It's been about 5-6 years now since my current computer was built. It's running a i3-3220, r9 290, and 8gb RAM.

I would actually like more RAM if it means I can fire up more programs at the same time. Like 32 gigs :)

Thanks everyone

edit:
Also anyone know a good pc builder website that'll get the parts and assemble them for me? (with a cost that's not in the above budget)
I dislike buying them parts one by one and waiting for them and then assembling them.

https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/f22ynH - AMD
https://ca.pcpartpicker.com/list/2CF2sZ - Intel

Go with the Intel system if you're playing at 1080p and really want to have all settings maxed and keep 165+hz, otherwise for 1080p at 144hz and below or 1440p/4k, the AMD is a better value.
Also new AMD cpu's in a few months, and they are drop in replacements for the current socket with a BIOS update.
All motherboards chosen for both builds have the ALC 1220 audio codec (the current gen premium audio). Sound cards aren't really a thing anymore, it's better to just buy an amp/dac combo if you're using a high end headphones/microphone setup.
Air cooling is more cost effective than water; water is only really necessary where air can't keep up and you're in custom loop territory at that point and really only happens on HEDT platforms. A dual tower cooler will keep up with 240-360mm rads all day as long as you have case flow.
Not sure what storage needs are, so just have 500GB SSD on both setups.

oh wow that 2070 is actually pretty good performance for its price huh?
thanks for the builds but the first one is out of budget, even if slightly.
storage can be dropped since i have them already in my old setup. But a new SSD would be good (and SSD prices are dropping further this year from what I've seen(sales)/read).

I think you mean the second build out of budget? Its $100 more.
Like Atrhur said, post what you have for storage and we can adjust accordingly.
Also if you have a monitor already you plan to use, you should link us what that is.
Flash storage prices might come down a bit more, but they've more or less stagnated since the crypto mining craze has died out in the last 9 months.

If you want to re-use those, go ahead, but that makes it harder to resell your current system for some cash back.
