Windows 10 is just literally unpenetrable nowadays, people using antivirus are stupid for paying for something that windows 10 alone does better without having to pay.

First off, many AV's are free and work as well as the Paid counter parts. People pay for "Support".
Windows 10 or AV's aren't going to always protect you.
Most infections are due directly to bad habits, being a heavy pc user I'm sure you've shed these where as others have not.

Because those kinds of viruses ate mostly dead now days. People go for firewall or hardware exploits mostly.

I had a browser hijacker pop up and take 14/32gb of ram earlier today. alt f4 took like 40 seconds to close the browser... using i7-8700k@32gb ddr4.

I had windows 8.0 with my comp for years and upgraded to 10 is still going strong as fk.

never one reformat. I got the disc for 8.0 but it has a HUGE scratch on it. I called windows they said it might still be workable or I could buy a new one at $10. I never have done that yet said i'd take them up on it if so. WINDOWS 10 IS THE NEXT 8.0

And what King Arthur said is absolutely true, you could be driving exactly the speed limit never break any laws regularly change your oil never take any risks and be the perfect driver. It's bad habits that cause people problems.

Just like speeding not signaling and driving recklessly are all bad habits so are downloading without verifying browsing insecure sites such as http versus HTTPS or willingly giving out your information on the internet via social media.
