Two very good cartoons, that i dont think is anime, only "cartoons" are Avatar the last air bender, and the new show The Dragon Prince.

Tho i don´t know what is required for something to be "anime", - does it have to be from japan? Or is it the style of drawing?

Japan is my favorite nation on War Thunder, I have almost all airplanes there :D - maybe I´ll enjoy more of the Japanese stuff too!

I have seen some movies, like howls moving castle, spirited away and maybe a couple more famous ones. They were good, but not quite what I´m looking for right now.

Are there something in anime similar to the two cartoon shows mentioned that you can recommend?

Animated films from japan.

Any animated films made in America are considered cartoons.

This is due to the drastic differences in cultural influence.

Edit:
similar to how Brandy and Cognac are made from the same key elements, and an inexperienced individual could ask how theyre different.
but a Brandy is only called Cognac if it's made in France.
however, to an experienced individual they can distinguish the two.

Yeah i think i can see the difference quite clearly of an anime, its a completely different style.. anyway back to topic, are there similar animes to the cartoons i mentioned?

another nice cartoon series i enjoy is ducktales, well the old swedish version is what i have seen, (long ago) and the new remake from 2017 with season 2 running. Solid show

Nothing of the sorts?

They are inspired from anime those 2 shows... Without anime, those would not be around. Must be something good somewhat similar to it.

I'm making a list of shows that I think are good and then a list of shows that you'll probably like, based off the ones you've listed. I personally disliked Avatar, thought it was boring as all hell and couldn't stand any of the characters. Haven't bothered watching that other one, the animation turned me off immediately.

My Recommendations - Listed in no particular order, but I left a few of the best from each genre at the top.

Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood (One of the best ever and a great starter anime)
Hunter x Hunter (2011) (Best Shonen)
Death Note (Best dark psychological thriller)
One Punch Man (Best action/comedy)
Steins;Gate (Most thought provoking)
Megalobox (Best sports anime)
Claymore (Best action with a female lead)
Samurai Champloo (Best samurai)
Monster
Fate/Zero
My Hero Academia
Attack on Titan
Mob Psycho 100
Afro Samurai
Elfen Lied
Hellsing Ultimate
Future Diary
Parasyte
Deadman Wonderland
Tokyo Ghoul
Code Geass
Ergo Proxy
Gungrave
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

Generic/Popular (fit your iso a bit better)

Sword Art Online (1st season is solid)
Naruto
Bleach
One Piece
Fairy Tail
Inuyasha
Castlevania

Dated, but Amazing The style can be rough for people new to anime, but it's well worth giving these a chance. I've ordered them from my most -> least favorite.

Berserk
Cowboy Bebop
Neon Genesis Evangelion
Gantz
Berserk
Yu Yu Hakusho
Trigun
Outlaw Star

Movies - Fairly limited to be honest. There are some great movies, but shows are where anime thrives.

Ghost in the Shell (1995)
Afro Samurai Resurrection
Sword of the Stranger
Ninja Scroll
Akira

Anything by Hayao Miyazaki, but my favorites are
Spirited Away
Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind
Howl's Moving Castle
Princess Mononoke

If you end up enjoying any from the list, or you want some more guidance on where to start or whatever, feel free to PM me and I'll help however I can. Best of luck and welcome to the weeb side.
