GTX 1070ti FTW Ultra Silent

I honestly don't know if it just started or has been happening for a while and I'm just now noticing it. Very faint, but under load it makes like a ticking sound. I've check and it's not the fans. It goes away instantly after there is no load on the GPU.
Is this just a normal sound of power usage from the GFX card? It does sound similar to electric current, I guess I've just never noticed it from a GPU before? There is no performance hit, I can still overclock the card and play games just fine, just curious if anyone knows what the noise is and if it's something that needs to be fixed. Card is only a few months old, bought it new, haven't pushed high overclocks (usually just 120% power limit and like a +200mhz offset on both clock and memory.

Not 100% sure, I could pull the psu out and check. It's an evga 650 g2 tho, I'd be really surprised if its failing after less than 2 years.

sometimes happens with PSUs, thankfully most PSUs have at least a 5 year warranty

Yeah pretty sure it's just coil whine. Probably always had it but just never noticed it over game sound. It's not crazy loud or anything, so I'll probably just leave it.
I did pull out the PSU to eliminate that option, and it sounds loudest right where the VRM is on my graphics card.

It's a thicc boi, that's for sure. I think it's officially 2.75 but really it's a 3 slot card. It's nice tho, it can passively cool playing things like league of legends or path of exile.

You can use a wooden spoon or dowel rod as a stethoscope, to find exactly which component is making the noise.

Put one end to ear flap and touch the other end to various parts. The one making the noise will be extremely loud.

I know, I've used that trick several times on cars. It doesn't feel like anything is hitting, it's too constant and it happens even when the fans aren't spinning.

I just mentioned it as a way to find out whether the noise is coming from the GPU or the PSU.
