Looking for pointers, want to build or buy a LLD.
Used to have a lvl 18 charger years ago- is this still a thing?
Should I bring my char to hell or stay in norm for LLD rooms?
Ideas for equipment/builds?

you get a lot more stat points and a better overall twink if you push through the difficulties (skills, hp quest, anya, etc). i think hell has a minimum level requirement for the skill quests now tho. havent done it in a long time. i have a lot more fun trolling for games if i stay in normal since theres not a switch involved, plus if ur hopping in and out of games it could temp ban you.

my 2 favorite so far have been a level 30 smash barb and a level 30 fireballer sorc. i see a lot of chargers at 18 and im in the process of testing a 30 zealer. i ran my sorc through to hell and she hit for like 1500 with fireballs at level 30. the barb was only hitting for about 1000 with smash.

the equipment is pretty standard. check out arreat summit and look at all the unique gear for under level 18 if thats what ur going for. a lot of it has things like crushing blow or ignore defense which are going to help a lot. this is a good place to start while you look for jewelers items (max sockets with magic bonuses for putting in jewels). a lot of your bonus dmg is going to to come from max dmg jewels or small charms. attack rating is probably the most important thing tho.

LLD30
I'd make a few recommendations, depending on what class you feel is more attractive to your play style. These are my opinions based on the current meta with-in the active community.

For melee, there's ww barb and charger...that's pretty much it

For range, zon (they can also use jab for melee which is pretty effective)

Casters, sorc, necro, hammer, trap

Now there's plenty of combinations for different builds and different classes,but these are the most effective roles I've seen regarding a meta.

Plenty of guides and ideas to go off of, just what ever you dont build a smiter

The smiters part actually made me laugh. Also ww and charger are both technically ranged chars.
