Buying in Canada. This is meant to replace my desktop and current laptop. I would be fine with a gtx 1060. 17” is a must and a reasonable screen quality is a must because I do work on the laptop.

Prices are really high right now, but I saw this laptop with a gtx 2060 seems to have a good package. The right ram, ssd size, screen, etc.

Only problem with the laptop linked below is the battery... it’s a bit small.

Any suggestions?

I noticed it’s only an i5 processor. The battery I guess isn’t bad, but I’d just hoped for a slightly bigger battery (70wh instead of 51wh).

I might get the $2,199 one with the i7. Stupid thing is they put a 128gb ssd in that model instead. I don’t even want the 1TB hard drives they put in the gaming laptops, I’m fine with 256 or 512 single ssd.

If I go with one it looks like the 17” Asus is the right choice. Good screen, 512gb ssd, rtx 2060, i7-8750, etc.

At $2,300 Canadian plus tax, it’s still a bit steep for me.

Might wait for a sale on a 1060 laptop instead. Just not sure now. Really thought the laptop market wouldn’t be so expensive currently.

That price is insane. Should compare price to performance. Ones with a gtx 1060 can be found at 1000 bucks Canadian now.
