"Freely sit out" season

???

This is obviously a very unique case here because of the virus. It's not a typical season that they'd just decide to sit out. The exact rules should not apply in this case.

Regardless, we're likely about to see a bunch of transfers/draft eligible players leaving/siting out from the Big 10. There's no way these guys could play a season in spring and then go straight into an NFL camps/season. One little injury will plummet their draft stock and it isn't worth the risk in what would be such a ridiculously short turn around.

Edit: You can add the Pac 12 to the list as well now.

Which is why the "spring delay" is likely a continuation of this whole ruse that will inevitably just lead to a missed season. I've said for months that I don't care if they cancel the season, but to stop stringing it along. Getting another bolt in the coffin each week is obnoxious and just triggering the fan bases

Well so far, only the Pac 12 and Big 10 are running scared.

ACC conference doctors/medical staffs already said that a season could be safely played.

SEC and Big 12 said they'll wait and see what their conference doctors/staffs say and decide then.
