Plus that was before we overhauled our defense and got healthy. Shortly after those back to back losses against KC and CLE we signed two new starting ILBs who upgraded our defense (Onwuasor and Kenny Young were awful), upgraded to a much better safety and signal caller in Chuck Clark (Jefferson was like the worst ranked safety on PFF), signed Peters, got Jimmy Smith back... We've been very good since then. Our defense was at it's absolute worst when you played us.
Honestly, Chuck Clark was such a night and day upgrade at signal caller. His football IQ is excellent. We've had so many fewer busted coverages since early in the season when Jefferson and Onwuasor were wearing the green dot. Never seen somebody's intangibles be so... tangible.
You guys are such a better team than you were and we didn’t win by much. It will be interesting and I think Lamar v Mahomes will be an amazing budding rivalry. The pst two games have been amazing to watch between ravens and chiefs and looks like we will be playing next year again and possibly again in the playoffs. I would rather play anyone but the ravens but like I don’t want to play TB12 and BB in the playoffs either so idk how I feel I don’t think Mahomes is as good as he was last year but our defense is all of a sudden pretty good and the secondary has improved so much. I would love to see a rematch.
